APX Alarm Scam?
According to certain homeowners, APX alarm salesmen are going to door to door using less than reputable practices. Here's a warning from the BBB (click here to view). Basically its a simple reminder that APX has a D- from the BBB, numerous complaints and government actions on their report.
A good thing cannot be repeated too many times, and I've got two good things for you. 1: DON'T buy from door-to-door salesmen. Many (though not all) of them don't know the products they're selling. They frequently use sleazy tactics. Don't believe me? Check out the BBB report above. Ok, on to the next point, 2: DO IT YOURSELF. Unless you like throwing away money by having someone else do something you can do easily, don't get your home security from a full service company. They generally charge way too much, tie you in to a long monitoring contract (which is where they're overcharging you, over and over, month to month), and, in many cases, you don't actually own the system. You merely lease it. Sounds good to you? Great... I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.
